Join the James R. Thompson Center Historical Society (JRTCHS) for a tour that explores the political, cultural and occupational history of the former State of Illinois Building, designed by Helmut Jahn and put into service to the people of Illinois in 1985.

Docomomo US/DC and Howard University’s Department of Architecture will host a tour of modern architecture on Howard's main campus in Washington, DC. Howard is a historically black university with a long standing commitment to the field of architecture. The tour will feature modern buildings designed by African American architects including Hilyard Robinson and Paul R. Williams and explore the role of the modern movement in campus development.

This short but informative walking tour will take participants on a stroll through the midcentury sites of University Avenue.

Join New Haven Preservation Trust for a lecture on the complexities and contradictions at Modernism’s foremost art school. Dietrich Neumann will survey the celebrations of the Bauhaus centenary in Germany and will examine the school’s history as well as its continuing influence.
